THE COMPACT AND COST EFFICIENT STABILIZED HEAD FOR CINEMA AND COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION
The NEWTON C is built for extensive and varied use by demanding production teams out on location. It has the same rugged, rain-proof and anodized aluminum body with the same powerful INTUITIVE TECH stabilization and motor technology as the original NEWTON, but it is lighter, more compact and more streamlined for cinema applications. Weighing in at approximately 12 lbs (6 kg), it becomes the industry’s most powerful, robust and versatile stabilized head in its size and price range.
The foundation of the NEWTON family is the INTUITIVE stabilization and motor technology which has been evolved by Intuitive Aerial since the birth of the company in 2011.
Today it delivers one of the industry’s most robust and drift free electronic gyro stabilization, without the need for GPS coverage. Our proprietary sensor design and algorithms, combined with our own motors and drivers, ensure robust and reliable results during production. Whether the NEWTON is mounted on a car, boat, wirecam or on a crane and whether indoors, at remote outdoor locations, city centers or in tunnels, NEWTON delivers an outstanding horizon performance, even during aggressive camera maneuvers, where other GPS based systems would struggle.
The original NEWTON features full broadcast integration capabilities, with a slip ring for continuous pan, supporting dual uncompressed HD-SDI feeds, ethernet and serial data pass through for remote camera control. However, in the NEWTON C, the slip ring has been streamlined for cinematic applications, with a single 3G SDI core, that reduces manufacturing costs, whilst enabling a higher resolution 1080p/50 video feed for monitoring and more precise focus pulling.
AGILE ON THE SET
The original NEWTON contains two hot-swappable, airline approved batteries, that power a broadcast system up to 4 hours, but for long days of filming, the NEWTON C brings a more practical power solution. Since cinema cameras with FIZ systems demand more power, which would require frequent battery swaps, the NEWTON C instead connects to industry standard 12-36V external sources, such power stations and v-lock batteries. This enables operators to power the complete system: the NEWTON C, camera, wireless link, FIZ, from a single power source inside for example a car or a boat without interruptions.
On location, setup time and quick rebalancing is key. In the NEWTON family, balancing of cameras is done via lead screws and has integrated lemo connectors for easy cable management and neat camera builds. Naturally, the NEWTON C offers standard mounting hole patterns for mounting of safety wires, accessories and wireless links.
In all, we are very proud to present the versatile and cost effective NEWTON C, bringing powerful INTUITIVE TECH and NEWTON quality to all kinds of filmmakers.
With the NEWTON C, we removed all broadcast functionality, reduced the size and weight of the pan housing, increased the motor torque, thus producing a lighter, more powerful system at a lower manufacturing cost.
